Cant run 3000mhz ram at advertsised 3000mhz

Bought a new system the other day with a B450m Motherboard and Hyperx 2x4GB ram 3000mhz. When i first started the system, the bios showed the ram as 2400mhz and I couldnt get it up to 3000mhz through the bios either... Any ideas? Is there any way to monitor the mhz while in game or just generally while the computer is running?

Total system specs
Motherboard: Msi B450m
Ram: Hyoerx 2x4 gb 3000mhz
Gpu: RX 580 4Gb
Cpu: Ryzen 3 1300X

Yes, sorry! Its the B450m Gaming Plus (micro atx)

Ah ok! Good thing is that memory speed is supported, run Windows (or whatever OS) and run a program called CPU Z and tell us what speed it says there.

Make sure your kit is in the correct slots, some motherboards are A1/B1 and others are A2/B2. Try different slots and enable AXMP.

I already downloaded CPU Z, i can post a screenshot later but i think it said something about 2000 or 2400 mhz? Ill come back with a screenshot later! Thanks for now!

Yep, you’re totally fine. DDR stands for Double Data Rate, so whatever number it says you multiply by 2 to get the ram speed. 1500 MHz x2 is 3000, so everything is normal.
