Can't run any game on Windows XP

Hello which ever game i download , i am able to install it correctly but at the time of running it shows the following error: Cricket07.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. (i got this when i tried to play cricket 7 game) and also it recommends to tell microsoft about this problem ... this happens every time and on every game i downloaded....i have windows xp .
