Ok so I just bought ARK, downloaded it on steam and started it up. It went great at the menu but when i started the game, it lagged like crazy! i put it on half medium half low quality but it still runs like sh*t!

I checked both on Steam and on Systemrequirementslab, and i meet all the requirements so i don't know what have gone wrong, i have enough space, i don't have any other program open when im "playing" the game!

Thanks for your responses!

Yep as mentioned, it's just optimisation. To be fair it's a very graphically intensive game too, on Ultra settings it's nothing to scoff at on the Unreal Engine 4. Don't expect any full optimisation to come until they get to the late stages of the early access closer to full release, they have already stated they won't focus on optimisation when they are pumping so much content into the game on a regular basis, it's easy to do that once the game is already at close to finished which could be a while yet who knows. I mean the game alone recommends a Titan X for Ultra settings.
I'm able to run it fine with my system (see in my sig). Also my kids' computers all run it ok as well. lowest one being an i3-6100 with a GTX 950. What is your hardware?

Also, google Ark optimizations, there are a few settings that can be applied to the ini file that will help.

Are you running on a laptop with integrated graphics + a GPU? Might be running on the wrong one.

No I'm running on a 64-bit pc.

as someone who has 300+ hours in Ark I can tell you that this game is very badly optimized, when I had my r9 380 I could play at medium with about 40 fps.

Now with my gtx 1070 I play at high-ultra with some settings at low and im still only in the 50's.

The game is very gpu heavy, and doesnt require a strong cpu though.
