Can't run .msi files

Hey guys. Well when I double click on a .msi file, a window pops up saying "gathering information", then it suddenly closes and I don't hear anything from it again. No sign of it in running processes, I'm so confused. Help? And yes, I tried multiple msi files to make sure it wasn't just a problem with one.

Make sure that your copy of Windows + NET Framework is fully updated.

Make sure it's not your AV blocking the file, they tend to let it load and then close it.
