FINAL UPDATE 2/8/18: Finally found the problem. Had to disable controlled folder access under Windows Defender - Virus and threat protection settings.
UPDATE 2/8/18: It's been awhile since I've messed around with this issue, but recently out of frustration with it, I decided to do a little bit of testing with the problem. It turns out I can save files from Audacity on to the SSD, although only in specific folders. For example, I can save a file in C:\Users\David, but not in C:\Users\David\Documents or C:\Users\David\Desktop (this includes their sub-folders too). Most of the settings on these folders look identical to that of the previous folders, so I still don't know what's causing it.
UPDATE 12/13/17: The issue is still present. I used video editing software and attempted to save a project and the same error occurred. One thing I know is that the issue can't be more than 2 weeks old, since I worked on a video 2 weeks ago and had no trouble saving the project file. It appears to occur whenever saving a file with that exact explorer too.
Dear people of Tom's Hardware,
I have noticed an issue regarding my SSD or possibly my OS that has appeared lately. When I attempt to save files a certain way to any location on my SSD, whether it be on my desktop, in folders, sub-folders, and so on, it will not allow me to do it. I must emphasize that this error is only with certain programs when attempting to save/export files. For example, I can still save a jpg or notepad file with no trouble. The error I get is as follows: File not found. Check the file name and try again. I have also tried to save text files using Notepad++. I can save with Notepad, but if I save with Notepad++, the text doesn't save. If I try to do a "save as" and then save it, I get a similar error. Another thing is I can save it to my HDD which I use for storage and move it to my SSD without any problems.
What I have tried:
chkdsk /f for all of my drives.
Crystal Disk Info states all of my drives are healthy.
Allow full control for all users.
Here is a picture with the error: https://i.imgur.com/mAZlT0g.png
If anyone has any advice or tips, I'd appreciate it. This issue seems pretty vague, since I've searched all over the internet and couldn't find any information on it.
