Basically, my CPU was running hot, so I cleaned the heatsink and cpu fan, and reapplied thermal paste.

Job done, but now I can't screw the heatsink back down. The screws have little spring things on them, and I'm not sure if those have something to do with it.

Please help! D:

I've had a look ay my mobo without the heatsink in place and 2 of the holes have nothing to catch on to. I can see the threads fine in the other 2, though.

Yeah, I managed to find the hexagonal things with the thread for the screws inside the case. However, they're terribly loose even when I try to put them back in place, and just fall out of place again.

The backplate looks fine, and the things are poking through at the correct place on the motherboard.
Everything was fine for 3 years until I took the screws out. Lol

Edit: I held them in place as I put the screws in without the heatsink. One holds solid in place, the other 3 just come loose and move with the screw.
