Cant screw in graphics card

So I just received my gtx 1060 3g but there is a problem. The back metal part of the gpu, where you are supposed to screw it in, is a little bit too high. The screw that held my gtx 950 in Place is not long enough to screw the gtx 1060 in. Can I just put a longer screw or possibly a nail in the hole where the screw is supposed to go, or is there some other way to keep the gpu in Place? 'm a little bit worried about having it hanging By only the pci slot. I also dont want to have my pc on its side since it could damage any disc I put in. Thanks

Thought that I might lend a hand - I have on occasion had a card that did not align properly - generally because I had not gotten the mobo in the right position. I must confess that I have no idea where the issue is for you. I took a look at your photo, I can see your problem - I cannot identify your case or the location of the slot on the mobo you are attempting to use.
At the moment I can think of two possible scenarios. First - and most unlikely, is that the mobo is not fully seated on the standoff(s) in the area of the slot you are using. I saw no other cards in your photo so I cannot rule out that possibility save that you said you had a 950 in place.
The other possibility is that you have not fully seated the new card in the slot - and I have done that to myself as well. I would suggest that you completely remove the 1060 from the slot and ensure that there is not a bit of debris in the slot that is preventing seating fully. Once you have verified that - attempt to reseat the card - I have yet to install a larger graphics card that is easily fully seated without a degree of effort.

The card should be a lot closer to the back of the case.

Loosen the motherboard screws is also my advice. If that doesn't work, then you might have to make a few cuts in the case.

Typically with older cases the spacing of the metal between expansion slots isn't designed for dual slot graphics cards. If applicable the DVI ports might be hitting the metal in the back. Usually just cutting out the single slat between the first and second expansion slot is enough. (Bending can also work, but only if you don't plan to use DVI)

Really need a few more angles on the picture to tell.
