Can't see 5GHz network with 802.11a/b/g/n/ac

I have an Asus x99 pro motherboard and the wireless card included supports 802.11a/b/g/n/ac.
So I naturally want to connect to my routers 5GHz network. My phone can see and connect fine but my computer cannot. My drivers are all up to date. I have no idea what the issue is.
I double checked in a command prompt by typing "netsh wlan show drivers" and it says the supported radio types are ac/a/n/g/b.
Does anybody know what my issue is?

If you can't see the network it's either because the SSID is hidden or the wireless adapter doesn't support the band. If I'm looking at the right motherboard (https://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards/X99PRO/overview/), then it does support 5Ghz but it may be operating in 2.4Ghz mode only. Take a look at the adapter in Device Manager and see if you can manually select a band.
