Can't see all space on new 3 TB HD

I recently added a 3 TB HD to an XP Pro PC. XP only sees 746 GB or the 3 TB. I moved the drive to a Win 7 Pro system and got the same results. How do I get access to the entire disk?

In Disk Management it looks like the HD is only 2 TB. I tried using diskpart with the clean command and then extend. Clean seems to work OK, but extend returns an error basically saying I'm already using all of the available space.

I think I got in trouble when I initially installed the disk under XP Pro, which can't handle disks larger than 2 TB, but now that I've moved the disk to a Win 7 system, how do I undo what XP did to limit the size. BTW, I did convert the disk to GPT.

haha, not sure if you can undo them, i couldve helped but since i cannot see your disk management i couldnt comment any further. maybe formatting to ntfs would help
