Can't see boot screen (and therefore access BIOS) with certain monitor

When I boot with my LG monitor (preferred), there is no output to the monitor until the Windows log-in page. As the PC boots, the LEDs on my motherboard cycle from CPU to DRAM to VGA. It hangs on VGA until I am at the Windows log-in page, and then the VGA light turns off and the log-in page appears. Also, if I try to spam DEL to access the BIOS page even when the screen is still black, I will still end up at the Windows log-in page; I think it's not accepting input from my keyboard until after the VGA light has turned off.

If I try to use my old Vizio TV as the output device, I can access the BIOS page immediately. I have also tried my graphics card on a friend's build and it works just fine. It really is just the monitor that is affecting this situation. I saw a post on Tom's where someone was having the same issue, and they were able to access the BIOS using the same monitor by using a VGA cable instead of the HDMI (which is what I am using). If I can't fix the problem, I will probably just end up using a VGA cable any time I want to access the BIOS (if that actually works for me); however, this is not ideal.

All of the newest drivers for my graphics card and monitor are installed, and I just updated to the newest BIOS (23d), although the problem was presenting even before I updated the BIOS.

This is a new build, and before I had installed Windows, the VGA light would just stay on and there would be no display whatsoever. I was only able to install windows by switching over to my Vizio. Once Windows was installed, I was then able to use my LG monitor (complete with the issue I am describing).

Anybody have any ideas why a certain monitor would not work with a video card or motherboard?

Build:
Ryzen 1300X
Gigabyte AB350-Gaming 3 (rev. 1.0)
V.Skill Ripjaws V 8GB 3600Mhz (x2)
Sapphire Nitro+ RX 580 8GB
LG 24MP59HT-P monitor

Thanks

Finally got it, and it was such a silly fix: I had to turn on my monitor's FreeSync feature. I was planning on leaving it off until I started gaming and working on my GPU settings (i.e. after finding stable OCs for my CPU and memory), so I never turned it on.

Just wanted to confirm that this seems to be an issue with the LG 24MP59HT-P specifically. I've had this issue for a very long time and I saw your post, tried the fix, and was able to access the BIOS. Thank you for sharing your fix!
