Question Can't See Samsung 970 Evo Plus NVMe M.2 SSD

I just installed a Samsung 970 Evo Plus NVMe M.2 SSD on my Asus Prime Z270-P motherboard, but it's not showing up at all in Windows or in BIOS. I've tried to research if I needed to make any changes in BIOS, but nothing worked.

it have 2 m.2 slot, did you try them both?

I tried putting it in the top slot, and that worked! Do you think the first one I tried was bad, or do you have to use the slots in sequential order?

could be a bios settings. some time they switch between pcie slot and m.2 slot. and change what what speed they can run at.
