Can't seem to overclock with Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3 ATX AM3+ Motherboard

I'd like to pump up my AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-core to around 3.8GHz but my BIOS won't allow me to change any multipliers or voltages and when I use AMD catylist control, if I OC even to 3.6GHz my aero in Win7 64bit pro gets messed up and I have to turn off Catylists overdrive and reboot my computer. Any suggestions on what to do to fix this problem? My build is down below. Thanks guys.

Googling it, this guy had a similar problem, but found out the problem was that he had to first click on the multiplier (etc.) and then use plus/minus on the keyboard to change it.

I'll go try it out. Is there a reason why using Catylist to OC fails so miserably?

so your suggestion worked and I'm not able to change multipliers and voltages. Next question(s), for OC'ing to 3.8GHz (19x multiplier), what should the CPU voltage be? And I get a list of different voltages I can change, which one should I be altering for the CPU?

Overclocking in BIOS is more reliable in general.

So this is what I have so far

I also have seven different voltages to choose from, so I'm rather confused as to which one to manipulate and by how much. These are what I'm getting:

CPU VCore (Auto)
NB Core (Auto)
DRAM Voltage (1.5V)
HT LINK Voltage (1.2V)
NB/PCIe/PLL Voltage (1.8V)
CPU PLL Voltage (2.5V)
NB Voltage (1.1V)

I'm not too familiar with overclocking the FX processors. But it's mainly going to be the VCore that'll be relevant for overclocking the CPU. Since you're only doing a small overclock, there's a good chance you won't have to touch the voltages at all.

I'm currently stress testing my system at 4.0GHz. I've been stressing it for about an hour, maybe a little more. No problems or crashes, temps are good and I haven't messed with the voltage yet. I thinking I won't need to. Should I keep the stress test going or is it good?

Another thing I noticed was that occasionally the voltage would fluctuate between 1.200v and 1.290v but I haven't seen any performance issues. Is that normal?

The longer you can stress test, the more sure you can be that it's working perfectly.
Auto voltage can fluctuate some, you can set it manually if you like.
