Question Can't seem to work out best way forward with this one.

Hi there, and thanks in advance for whatever suggestions you may have for my issue.
I recently changed my motherboard which was an MSI Z70 A-Pro to the new one as listed above. In the old system I had m.2 Intel 660p as my boot drive which was c: drive and it was partitioned as h: drive.
Bear with me as this may take a short while.
However in the new system I booted as with thehe Samsung m.2 in m.2 1 slot. The Intel m.2 was not properly placed into the m.2 2 slot and after installing windows on the boot drive I realised this. Quickly seated it properly and switched on.
The system at this point used the old OS which was still on the Intel 660p as boot manager.
I don't know the best way forward with this, but having 2 operating systems can't be wise can it?
To be honest I've not come across this before and it's sort of worrying me. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Just go into bios and make what ever drive you want the priority boot drive with the os you want to proceed with..

Windows only boots into one OS whichever is selected as the boot device. So it will still see the file system of the other OS but it won't actually be running both simultaneously and you can't login to both user profiles etc. If you want to keep both you can go into BIOS and change boot order whenever you need to change. Otherwise i'd just migrate all useful files onto the preferred OS and wipe the other for extra storage space.

Got it! Thank you for this information. I didn't know if removing the redundant OS would have been harmful or not. I thought I'd ask on Tom's Hardware forum as you guys have been more than helpful and 100% with my queries in the past. Thank you again!

The big advantage of two OS drives is that one may be kept as a system back up , refreshed occasionally.
