Can't set 1440p display over 1080p - What might be the culprit?

Dear Forum-gurus!

I just bought a Benq GW2765HT 1440p monitor, and in my current PC I have a Radeon HD 5750 video card.

I have two options for connecting them, either the supplied HDMI cable or the supplied (or my old) D-Sub cable.

Whichever I choose the maximum resolution is 1920x1080, with no option to set it higher, (I'm using Windows 7).

I have updated catalyst (13.4), and the video-card drivers (package: 12.104..., 2d: 8.01...., 3d: 9.14....).
I have downloaded the Benq monitor driver instead of using the "General plug and play" option.

All help would be much appreciated!

I think you need to use a dual link dvi cable for 1440p @ 60hz. Or a display port cable, not sure if hdmi can go that high.

Just checked the benq site for your monitor, use a dual link dvi cable and it will be fine
