Can't set chrome as default browser help!

You could try reinstalling Chrome and then giving it its defaults again. Or, check Internet Explorer and see if that has any defaults still selected.

Thanks but I have already tried reinstalling chrome several times.

OK what about checking Internet Explorer defaults? Make sure you check associations as well - press the Windows key and type 'default' and open the control panel link. Then make sure IE is not selected on any of them as this could prevent Chrome being chosen.

Also when you reinstall Chrome, remove it fully - delete any leftover files (usually left in C:/Program Files).

EDIT: Is it just Chrome that refuses to be default? Have you got any other browsers you can test with?

As with before, i have already tried all of this. Yes, other browsers work. It does become default broswer but when I click a hyperlink, it doesn't work (popup comes up saying unable to open http://.....). I think is has something to do with the fact that there is no icon next to one of the chromes.
