I just purchased a Samsung laptop w/windows 8 and I keep getting redirected on yahoo to hsrd.yahoo, or hdsr.yahoo something like that. I am not a computer expert at all, but in looking I did find that my homepage in internet settings is set at http://samsung13.msn.com. What's with that? So annoying. Any suggestions? I have tried to delete remove you name it. I have not a clue what to do. Thanks for your help in this. Karen

There isn't a better browser, currently, then IE.

Select the homepage of your choice. You will, of course, have to write it in the address bar manually
For example, I use http://www.google.com/intl/en/. - Go to this ddress.

Open "Tools" - Internet options", from the top menu bar. Select "use current" - Done.

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestions. It all sounds good. I did have google chrome and the I kept receiving error messages saying it wasn't compatible with windows 8. I seriously have been dealing with sooo many problems on this new computer. Between Samsung and windows 8. Crazy! Like I said earlier I really don't have a lot of computer experience. So, my question is that I have all of my email accounts on yahoo. How would I check my mail if I do go to either google (which I plan on) or firefox? Thanks, Karen

O.K., I am headed to try it all right now. I am praying it all works so I can actually get something done on my computer today. It will be nice to
feel safe again. Wish me luck! Thank you so very much for all of your help. It is very much appreciated. Karen
