Hi all!

Recently upgraded my cpu, ram and mobo, but ever since i did i can't get my ram to go higher than 2800mhz.
Gigabyte B660 Gaming X DDR4
13600K
32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3600

I know the CPU doesn't support DDR4 higher than 3200, but i can't even get it higher than 2800 for now without it crashing.
What might be the issue here? Updated the BIOS to the latest as well.

If this is your motherboard, the specs say it will support up to 4400 speed ddr4.

The 3200 speed max is the speed at which the motherboard will post, allowing you to specify higher speed.https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B660-GAMING-X-DDR4-rev-10/sp#sp

Where are you reading the speed?
CPU-Z is a good place.
Also verify that CPU-Z says you are running dual channel.

How are you setting the speed?
XMP is the usual method.

If, by chance, you damaged a cpu socket pin, ram issues are a common result.

I''ve been reading it through the task manager and the BIOS. I have set the XMP profile which sets it at 3600mhz but then it doesn't boot. I then manually lower it in a few steps until 2800mhz was stable and CPUz says it's 2x64bit dualchannel
