[SOLVED] Can't set up dual monitors with Nvidia Geforce GTX 750 Series, DVI-D to VGA Adapter

I got a new video card a few months ago when my old card fried, and it had a different port for a second monitor than my previous card. I finally got around to buying the appropriate adapter, a DVI-D to VGA HD Adapter. I plugged it in, and...nothing. I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers for my Nvidia Geforce GTX 750 video card, and...nothing. I tested the monitor by plugging it into the primary port, and it works fine. I cannot figure out why I can't get my computer or my video card to recognize that there are two monitors connected to it.

If it's not an active adapter, it's not for pcs. If it is active then rma. Doa adapters happen quite often.
