Cant startup past windows screen

I was upgrading my graphics card from an amd 7700 to a nvidia gtx 970 (everything was compatible) and I guess I installed the nvidia drivers wrong or forgot to uninstall the amd drivers and now I get to the launch windows normally or scan for problems screen. When launching normally it only gets to the starting windows screen then shuts off immediately after. If i scan for problems it says that it cannot fix it automatically and if i try to revert it back to a previous instance it fails. I tried putting the old card back in and same thing happens with either the new card or the old card.

Start the PC in safe mode, delete both drivers then reinstall the 970 driver.

It doesnt even allow me to start in safe mode, it just gets stuck at startup.

If you have built in graphics on your motherboard remove the card and try using that.
If not you could be looking at a fresh install of windows.

Is it possible if i check that i could ruin my hard drive or anything? I have someone coming over today to help me out and if I could figure out a way to fix it so he doesn't have to go out of his way.

You wont rune the drive but all data on it will be gone.
