So today I was trying to change my boot settings so my computer loads up faster,I changed everything in msconfig like the dude in the video said. Later when I tried to restart my laptop it said that windows ran into a problem,it restarted few times then it came up to an point where it said that it can restore to a point where everything worked. I couldnt open advanced options, only cancel and restore. I clicked restore and it said attempting repair,30mins later I had a black screen with only a blue loading circle instead of the mouse pointer,my mouse didnt work, only the touchpad. the error was bad_system_config
Any solutions?

is there anything on C drive you want to rescue? try making this on another PC: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/use-ubuntu-live-cd-to-backup-files-from-your-dead-windows-computer/

Also, on another PC, download the Windows 10 media creation tool and use it to make a win 10 installer on USB - its a handy boot disk if nothing else

turning everything off in msconfig isn't always a good idea. especially following some guy on a video...

lets see if startup repair helps
change boot order so USB is first, hdd second
boot from installer
on screen after languages, choose repair this pc, not install.
choose troubleshoot
choose advanced
choose start up repair - this will scan PC and maybe fix this - will ask for logon info

if that doesn't help, try safe mode:
boot from installer, on 2nd screen after languages, choose repair this pc, not install
choose troubleshoot
choose advanced
choose start up options
hit the restart button
choose a safe mode (it doesn't matter which) by using number associated with it.
PC will restart and load safe mode

If you get into safe mode, right click start button
choose run...
type msconfig
reset it to normal startup and restart PC and see if it works

If neither of these help, you might want to use ubuntu to copy anything off PC you can't afford to lose, and do a reset
boot from installer, on 2nd screen after languages, choose repair this pc, not install
choose troubleshoot
choose reset this PC
choose keep files/settings (this should work, i don't think it saves msconfig settings) - other choice is wipe it all
EIther choice, PC will restart and reinstall win 10. It only effects C drive so other hdd would be ignored. You need to reinstall applications again

If reset doesn't work, do a full install using Win 10 installer
boot from installer
follow this guide: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/1950-windows-10-clean-install.html

when you reach the screen asking for licence, click "I don't have a key" and win 10 will continue to install and reactivate once finished

On the screen where you choose where to install win 10, if it gives you an error about GPT drives, delete all the partitions on the hdd and press next. If it still gives error, cancel out of the installer and restart PC and start installer again, it will accept next on that screen this time (some PC just need a restart here)

hopefully one of those will fix it before you need last one :)
