Can't switch on after powering down (P5N32-E)

Hi,

I'm not sure whether this should be in the power supply forum, or even the asus sub forum so apologies if I've got it wrong:

Whenever I power off the computer at the mains (after shutting down) when I reconnect the power I can't turn the pc on for a long time. I haven't timed it but it's probably more than an hour.

The onboard LED on the motherboard (p5n32-e) flashes green when I reconnect the power. It's only when it stays green will I be able to switch the pc on.

I've looked all over the place for an explanation of what a flashing LED means to no avail.

It means if I want to open up the case, say to install a new memory module, I have to wait hours before I can turn it on again!

Any help greatly appreciated.

James

well I can try that later, have to wait for ages til it'll let me turn it on!

in the meantime, it's an Atrix 600w

thanks.

This did not help.

The green LED is flashing again, it will be some hours (basically tomorrow) before I can try something else.

It is a very frustrating thing to test, because each failed test means I have to wait ages for the next one!

🙁
