[SOLVED] Cant tell bad RAM or if HDD dying causing cache errors and memory leaks

I was hoping someone could help, I have recently in the past two days noticed a tremendous slow down in loading speeds on my games to the point where I simply had to close them because it was taking so long. I have cleared and optimised a lot on my HDD and it has no fragments on it, I then ran a performance monitor which told me that I had hundreds of thousands sometimes millions of cache errors and also I was having very high waiting times from my Hard drive. I was wondering if the high wait time was contributing to the cache errors, I conducted a standard RAM test and there was no hardware issues to be found therefore I was thinking it could be that my ancient HDD is dying? I read somewhere that the RAM tests are not 100% accurate and also read that the high wait times on disk also contributes to very high cache errors. My disk space at the moment is always at 100% when running windows if that helps.

What brand is your HDD? With that info, you can go to the manufacturer's support website and get their diagnostic to check the HDD's health. In the meantime, make sure you have a good back up of your files.

Also, have you scanned your system for malware/viruses lately? Is your HDD nearly full?
