Can't type password into Router Login

I am trying to port forward for a video game to play with my friends.

When I type my IP in the search bar and get to the login page I can type the username just fine. But when I type the password it will put multiple dots each time I press any button (even something like shift)

I have heard this is just a security thing, but I still can't get it typed. And at the end of the password (8 digit) I will type the last figure and it will delete a chunk and will get all messed up. (even though it was already being messed up with each button I pressed)

This is starting to get on my nerves. What should take 5 minutes I have now almost wasted an hour on.

My ISP is Frontier. Please help me out. Thanks

Solution
try typing the password in a notepad or something copy it and past it in the password field and see if that works. if you accessing the router from a browser you could also try using a different browser and try typing it in and checking if same thing happens

Awesome. This has seemed to work. Oddly enough, though, it's been almost 14 hours and it still tells me "too many password attempts have been made please try again later".
