Hi everyone, I have this problem that I just can't solve so I decided to come here.
Here's my problem:
I had a core 2 duo e8500 on a Gigabyte ga 945gcm. Obviously I could't do any oc with it but at least I could undervolt the cpu to get better temperatures.
So I dicided to put the CPU on another motherboard that I had. Asus P5kpl-AM SE with chipset g31 and BIOS 0407. It is a better option to do some oc and it lets me use the full 4gb of RAM.
The problem is that the only option to change voltage is either 1.2 and 1.3v. But even when I put it at 1.2 cpu-z shows 1.31v wich is quite high for this cpu (I had it at 1,15 on the gigabyte). The temperatures when running at 100% are about 82c wich is way too high and the cpu fan sounds like an helicopter.
How can I lower the voltage? Is there any BIOS update or downgrade that I could do to have more voltage options? Or is there any software that could be used?
