Hello,
I am attempting to install Windows 8 using Windows Upgrade assistant, and it won't let me continue until I uninstall "Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller." When I attempt to uninstall the "Intel(R) Installation Framework" displays "Removing Service: iusb3hcs" and hasn't changed for over an hour. The window is still responding, so nothing obvious has frozen.
I've tried installing the driver before uninstalling it again, but the installation process hangs on "Creating: wevtutil.exe".
Is there a way I can remove any trace of this driver so Windows 8 can proceed with the installation? Additionally, if this driver is removed, will I lose usb control?
I am currently on Windows 7 64-bit, and my MB is a GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UD5H.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Ryan
