I was trying to update my bios due to an ethernet device power state failure so I followed the steps described in the user manual of my motherboard (Page 3-55 and 3-56) but when I came to the step where I have to execute the bupdater command in the FreeDOS prompt I got a bad command error like if bupdater would not exists.
The following is the content of the prompt:
Code:
C:\>d:
D:\>bupdater /pc /g
Bad command or filename - "bupdater"
D:\>_

My motherboard is an ASUS Sabertooth Z87

Hi mrquebec13 :)

With the Sabertooth Z87 you have flashback capability which is the best way to update your Bios.

Bios flashback is done using a USB stick formatted to FAT32 and the USB should be empty, single partition.

Download the Bios file from ASUS support to the USB and rename the file to Z87ST.CAP

Power down your system so there is only power to the MB then Insert the USB into the correct flashback port (Section 2.3 in your MB manual) Press the Flashback button for 2-3 secs until it starts to blink. Once the flashback button stops blinking then your done.
If it continuously stays lit then you have an issue which is usually a bad USB incorrectly formatted or the Bios not named correctly.
Once it stops blinking then remove...
