Can't update drivers due to Microsoft Basic Display Adapter

Whenever I try to install my AMD drivers, halfway through I get redirected to a black screen then my computer stops responding and I'm forced to restart it. After restarting it I'm still left with the Microsoft drivers.

Specs:
MSI R9 270
Intel i5 3330
8GB RAM
1 TB HD
128GB SSD

Are you sure you have right drivers for your OS ? Try some older ones ?

I've tried updating with older drivers too but it does a black screen halfway through as well
