Question Can't update firmware for Samsung 870 EVO SSD (using magician)

Hello!

I got a new drive today and I can't update the firmware on it.

I tried a lot of things already; for starters running the app as admin, rolling back the magician software down to version 6.3.

Any ideas what this log coveys and how I can try to fix this?

Why would you want to roll back to an older revision of the app? You should be on version7.0.1 for the app, at least that's what I'm on since it's release and yes I have 2x870 Evo's, both on the latest firmware. What is the make and model of your motherboard? BIOS version for said motherboard? OS used? If you're on Windows 10, what version(not edition) of the OS are you on?

Hey there, I tried it because from googling it some people were suggesting that. Apparently this happens for some people. My mobo is MSI, x570 meg unify, I'm using the latest bios. The os is win10 home 21H2, it's updated

Same problem also with newly unpackaged 870 EVO today running Magician 7.0.1 on MSI Raider-9SE laptop running Win10 21H2: FAILED TO UPDATE FIRMWARE ON THE SELECTED DRIVE. My 860 EVO has no such issues.

Magician version 7 is also causing me problems (installation would fail / or it installs but has no dashboard!)
I also have an MSI motherboard, maybe Magician is allergic to them.

I removed version 7 completely from my PC, installed version 6.3 while in Safe Mode and now it runs flawlessly.
