I have an older computer that I built, that is still running the type of games I play fine. However, Windows 10 won't update to Windows 11 because it says my processor isn't compatible. Is there a workaround?

I have an an Intel Core i5 4670K Quad Core 3.4 HGZ, with a Asus Z87-A motherboard and GTX760.

I will probably just bite the bullet and upgrade though. The main issue is I'm playing Baldur's Gate 3 and I can't update my video drivers anymore because they are tied to W11 and BD3 is just has a black screen for the map that just shows the waypoints, not the landscape.

Yes, your 4th Gen i5 is far off the bottom of the supported list for Win 11.
Your current WIn 10 still has a little over 2 years of full support (Oct 2025).

And as WIn 10 is still by far the most prevalent Windows OS, I can't get behind the idea that the only video drives available are WIn 11 only.
Especially for a GTX 760.

Just leave the system as is, until such time as you do a full upgrade in the next year or two.

The newest driver I'm able to download from Nvidia is 479.XX 'ish but I think the newest one out there is 539 or something like that.

Been out of the PC building game for awhile. Might just get a laptop instead. Probably something with an 8 gig min gpu, 16 gigs DDR5 ram and something with min 400 nit brightness. PS: Why do so many laptops have 512 gb. Balders gate 3 alone is 130 gb.

Unless you have an actual problem, you don't need to upgrade the driver.

As for the drive space, most people with laptops don't install large games.
You should be able to find laptops with 1 or 2TB drives, or upgrade them yourself.

I don't think ity's wise trying to upgrade an unsupported CPU to Windows 11. Sure, you can do it under most circumstances, but because your CPU is not supported, Microsoft may change WIndows 11 down the line in a way that stops your system from running. What will you do then?

The GTX 760 is a 10 year old graphics card, and support for it has been discontinued in drivers since 2021. It doesn't have anything to do with Windows 11.
