BIOS: Phoenix Technologies, LTD 6.00 PG 04/01/2007
Processors-2.67 gigahertz Intel Core 2 6700
64 kilobyte primary memory cache
4096 kilobyte secondary memory cache
64-bit ready
Multi-core (2 total)
Memory-
Slot 'A0' has 1024 MB
Slot 'A1' has 1024 MB
Slot 'A2' is Empty
Slot 'A3' is Empty
Graphics-NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS 512

Thank in advance!!

"keep my current goodies"
What, exactly do you mean? Hardware or software?

There is no 'upgrade' from Vista to Win 10. That would be a full OS install, including purchasing a Win 10 license.
Sorry...hardware not software.
I already have the Win10 Key, backed up my whole system and have the Win10 ISO on a thumb drive....so "upgrade" was the wrong term..sorry. I want to see if i can upgrade the MOBO and reuse my current components if the new one accepts it. 2g is plenty for 32x Win10 according to microsoft. I have 2 unused memory slots as well that can be used to add more.

are u sure u dont need new PC?
if u switch mainboard, then u will also need CPU for that board and id guess ram too, as 2GB ram is below minimum

My PC is upgradeable...i am confident i can install replacement parts with advice...i have already upgraded the old graphics card to a 512mb from a 320mb sometime ago. :)

2GB is NOT plenty.
It WILL run like a dog.

I have a low end laptop with a similar level CPU and 2GB RAM. It is disturbingly slow.

What do you think a motherboard swap will gain you?

im honestly just looking for help in doing a clean install of a new OS that isnt working at the moment. (stuck on blue Win10 logo on boot) im going off of advise from a computer technician who had the same problem and solved it (with higher trained persons advise) that his MOBO wasnt going to work.... by changing the MOBO it worked. i thought/read certain MOBO's can only support so many OS's... im not looking to replace everything that i have.....i just trying to purchase or do what i need to keep up with the times.
if im in the wrong websites forum..please tell me and i will look elsewhere. Not trying to argue or waste time...just lost atm

What is your budget for this change? Finding a motherboard for that old CPU and RAM will not be easy or cheap.

Or....$200 gets you a whole new system

Budget unknown...depends on whats needed. Not going crazy...as i stated before...im keeping my case, just upgrading the needed innards! Alienware Predator 2 case. 2008-9
just having a hard time finding specs on what will fit....but it can be used...many are recycling the old cases.

OK, so keep that alienware case. It appears to be standard ATX, so you're in luck.
The above parts list then comes down to $180.

Anyway that list can be redone without AMD products....never been a fan of their stuff...or maybe i can just google a comparable Intel part.
UPDATE: Intel comparison is faster (i5) but the 2200 is not bad for the value...even though it has been superseded by the 3200.
