Cant upgrade windows 7 to win 8

Sir I can't install win 8 64 bit in my PC. When I click on the setup of win 8 it says this version of windows is not compatible with this version of windows. Sir I am trying to install but can't.
Presently I have win 7 ultimate 32 bit version.
I have checked that my hardware is compatible with 64 bit.
Please tell me how to do step by step.

Can't upgrade from 32 bit to 64 bit. You have to do a new install.
