Can't use a 144hz refresh rate on my 144hz monitor?

I've got a Phillips 144hz 24" monitor, GTX 770, running windows 10. When I go to nvidia cp, it wont let me select 144hz as the rate - 60 is the highest it goes for 1080p... I am also using HDMI. Whats the problem?

HDMI might be the problem here, you need to be using Dual-link DVI or DisplayPort

You need to use a dual link dvi cable or displayport to get 144hz. This info is available on page 19 of the manual

I thought that may have been the issue, ordering a DP cord now~
