Can't use anvils in Minecraft?

So I can't use any anvils in minecraft, and by that I mean cannot open them.
They won't work in multiplayer or singeplayer, or any gamemode.
And I can open crafting benches, furnaces, chests, and all other things just fine, so it's a very weird bug. No one else I know seems to have this problem either.

If you can help me with this I'd greatly appreciate it, thank you!

Is your Minecraft modded?

And have you tried reinstalling it?

I have optifine installed, but it was working after I installed that, so that shouldn't effect it.
