Can't use numbers while pressing ctrl

I have a razer blackwidow ultimate 2013 and when i press ctrl i cant use any of my number keys. ive noticed while gaming it also freezes everything. i cant move my mouse or use any keys for a couple of seconds if i use ctrl in conjunction with numbers.

You typically aren't able to use number keys while holding the Ctrl button. It's used to input special characters, the kind that you would find on the Character Map. well if that's the case then why in games i can't switch weapons and both the keyboard and the mouse freeze when i use them?
