So when I put my computer to sleep my mouse and my keyboard turn off which I dont want them to but I dont know how to fix this. Also when I move my mouse or press my keyboard it wont wake the computer from sleep mode. If anyone could help with either of these that would be awesome.
I have an MSI X99A sli plus mobo if that helps.

Oh yep easy.

Control panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options

then on the left hand pane u will have:

Choose when to turn off the display
Change when the Computer sleeps

Those 2 sections have the options you need. :)
nope just tried mine its exactly the same. sleep is different to screen sleep.

if your putting to sleep from the shut down menu then ur doing it wrong. the sleep from the shut down menu requires u to push the power button to wake it.

what you have to do it put the sleep option to never sleep.

but set the turn off display setting to like 5 minutes or what ever u want.

the turn off display is what ur looking for.

How would I do that?

If you want to wake from Mouse/KB, look in your BIOS for an option relating to that, along with disabling the low power-sleep state.
My MSI z97 board can do this, I'm sure your X99 can too.

If you just want the screen to turn off, check in windows power settings in control panel.
