Hey guys, I run games and both blender. Recently, I ran my pc configuration on cooler master's power calculator and found that if I attach an R9 270X (2gb or 4gb didn't matter), I need sth around 421 watts. Is it true? If not, then will it be pushing my PSU? Thank you

And is it true that the GTX series except 980 Ti won't make full use of DirectX 12? If so, I am more inclined on buying AMD since they have full support.

My Current PC Configuration is:
Motherboard: Gigabyte H61MA-D2V
Processor: Core i5 2400 3.1GHz
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 4GB DDR3 1600MHz (Max 16GB in 2 slots)
GPU: Gigabyte HD 5770 1GB GDDR5
PSU: Corsair VS 450
Monitor: Samsung 18.5" (1366x768)

Okay I don't know about the rumors. Rumors aren't news so I never follow them. I mean, it might be news to Fox, but that's for a different day.

Anyways, no, I would not suggest using that PSU with the 270x. The minimum PSU for a 270x is 500W. If that was a good quality 450W PSU, (like a Rosewill Capstone 450W) then I would say you are completely fine. But that is by no means a capstone. Just pick up a EVGA 500B or something. Not anything to break the bank. The 500B has a pretty good value. Not the greatest PSU but it is a great value and definitely adequate to get the job done.

Thanks for the info. It seems changing the PSU is a headache for me. And the prices are really high here. How about using R9 270? Thanks again
