[SOLVED] Capping Frame Rate above refresh rate

Hi.

I have a 144 Hz monitor. My pc can get frames above 144hz. Since it can already get more FPS I wanted to limit my cap in games to 150. Note that my pc can go beyond 150. In siege for example I can reach 170 ish FPS.

I want to cap FPS to reduce cpu and gpu usage and hence reduce power and heat. ( No thermal throttle at max usage)

Will capping my frames above refresh rate increase input delay?

No but it induces tearing. Better bet would be to leave it unconstrained and turn on fast sync (if you have nvidia). This will toss frames above your refresh so operates similar to vsync but without input lag.
