Car ac blowing hot air at fist,turn on

If I don't use my car ac for 2 daYsidro, on then I turn it on, it take, like 4 to 5 min.. to start blowing coolair air, after that it worked fine. I even have to turn it down.it Hape most time when I get of work likeep around 3.30 pm.at night and morning it star coling foster, thank for any help.

So fairly normal then? How old is the car?

That is about average for a car that has a hot interior on start up. All of the air conduits are hot, the engine has to warm up the heater core, the AC compressor has to get going.

My only advice would be to take it to a shop, or get one of those home use recharging kits and see if it is low or leaking refrigerant. It is possible the belt is slipping on the AC compressor, but the serpentine belt should be changed somewhat regularly.
