The card reader in my dell win8 desktop suddenly quit working. I'm receiving the following error in the device manager:
"A request for the USB device descriptor failed"
I've tried uninstalling the device, but this hasn't corrected the problem.
I'm trying to determine if I should just order another and replace it or if this is indicative of a greater issue - like MB for example. The USB port (beside the card readers) continues to work fine. I have not opened the case yet, but I think the card readers (CF, SD, etc.) are on one cable and the USB on another.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
