Hi guys, love coming here; best place for help!

I just received an ASUS ROG STRIX RTX 2070 OC and I need to pair it with a pc monitor.

I plan on gaming in 1440p
I did find an AOC 1440p 144hrtz monitor but I’m wondering this...can’t I just get a 4K monitor and lower it to 1440p if I want ? So I can see what it looks like or should I just get a 1440p 144hrtz Monitor?

My setup is

Ryzen 5 2600 3.9 ghz.
Hyper evo 212 black cooler
B450 tomahawk motherboard
Corsair vengeance LPX 3200 MHz
Cx 750 Corsair supply
H500 cooler master case with big dumb fans

I thank you much for your reply!

You can get a 4K monitor and run it at 1440 BUT since you are not running it at the monitors native resolution, the monitor has to use some called interpolation to display your 1440 resolution. Basically stretching your 2560x1440 pixels to 3840x2160. So think about how stretching pixels will look for graphics.... Everything will look blurry. If you're ok with that then you can do it.

I personally would just get a 144Hz, 2560x1440 monitor. 4K is overrated. No need for that if you are getting a 27 incher.
