Good Morning

I would like to know your opinion on what brands you view as carrier grade RF Wireless links like Ubiquiti, Cambium, Siklu etc. How do you determine if a radio is actually a carrier grade?

Which Radio's for carrier grade would you recommend for the following PtP scenarios?

1. <10km Link 5gbps backhaul.
2. >50km Link Backhaul 100mbps+
3. >150km Link Backhaul 100mbps+

Personally I like the Ubiquiti Aifibre's for 100km+ links and Siklu for the 5gbps links.

Solution
The difference between so called "Carrier" grade equipment and the stuff you can buy is that true carrier grade equipment requires a government license to run.

This type of equipment is not limited by the power limitation of unlicensed equipment. It also can use radio frequencies that go farther distance and since these frequencies are restricted it can pretty much be assured there is no interference.

Microwave point to point is nothing new. They have done it for years for television. The cell phone companies have used it from the beginning of cell towers.

That is not to say the equipment you can buy will not work well you just can't even think to compare it to equipment used by actual carriers who are using custom solution...

Note a huge part of going long distances is not the radios it is the need for very tall towers.
