My current memory is 1.5Gb oc pc150 CAS..can't say, I know that in BIOS settings 3-3-3 means CAS3 and 2-2-2 means CAS2, well I out it to 3-2-2, is CAS same as CL? will 2-2-2 give more frames a second in 3d games like Quake 3?h

have no idea, bought it from my friend for only $50, he said it is 7.5ns and CAS2.5? I set it 3-2-2 and maybe I should set 2-3-3 or 2-3-2?? what is the best thingy?

P3's will see little or no benefit from CAS2 RAM. Whereas the TBirds, which are bottlenecked by RAM tend to see quite an increase in speed. I've seen 50%-80% increase (a 750 with cas2 beating an 1100 with cas3 is an example I have witnessed)

uh...how do you know your buying cas-2 when you ask for it, and not just pricey cas-3 from a liar/salesman?

*shugs* buy the good stuff
crucial, kingmax, whatever.

typically a shope will sell 'nonamed' pc133 ram. nice and cheap, but u can guarentee it AINT cas2
then they might sell some better stuff like hyundi or whatever. named brand stuff, more expensive, but still ask about its CAS 2-ness.
me personally said, ah heck that, i want ya kingmax pc150. im thinking 1 stick of 256mb... but what sorrta discount can u give me on two?
(cauz i really wanted two) did the math, their figures were acceptable.
and ive got what my sig says.

my hamster is happy too

My Hamster has 512MB of SDRAM @ 150Mhz CAS 2!

PooBaa, I'm suprised you're not espousing the virtues of overclocking the memory. I've been doing some inquiring about upping the memory bus speed and changing the multiplier so as to avoid overclocking the processor and the concensus is that this is a better way to get some performance out of the box, especially with memory intensive apps like Photoshop.
I'm curious as to which would be better: upping it to CAS2 at 133MHz or CAS3 at 150.
Of course, when you're running CAS2 at 150, it really doesn't matter, does it?

i havent been blowing my trumpet about 150mhz cas2?
geez
i thought i was for the past month! :)
maybe i auggta do more

as for performance, the bootup memory count is visually faster, things run better, particularly seti & unreal tournament (probably +5fps)
and ive had a look using sandra2000 and cas 3 150 beats cas 2 133. by a small margin.
course ATM im reinstalling everything due to my stupid via drivers so ill try it again using sandra 2001.

but just before my system died i did get to compare 150mzh cas 2 to others.
the closest it was to was PC2100 cas2.5 DDR. few points better in the first benchmark, a bigger number less in the second.
