Does any1 know of good guides on how to improve case airflow but using fans, making rounded ide cables and tieing back power cables to the chassis and so forth

My case atm is just a tangle of cables and its basically made an inpenetrable wall 🙁

no url but I can give you some pointers. TO round your cables all you need to do is get some zip ties and fold the ide cables into a w and then fold in half again, using the zip ties to keep them folded. This is better than cutting them and the taping them in a circle as you won't cut up your ide cables. How big is your case? Basically we want air to come in the bottom and come out the top. It is important to get the air out of the case as it is hotter than the air outside of the case.

I'll be able to tell you more when I know how big your case is, and what you have inside it.
Edited by m_kelder on 07/12/01 02:18 AM.

You can split your cable into strips. Accidentally cutting the wire won't be too much of a concern because it is very easy to split the cable. Just get a sharp razor blade and make a small notch every 10 wire or so. Then manually split them apart. Zip-tie them all together. That way, you don't have to worry about cutting the actual wire. Its safe and it is also better.

BestByte has the absolute cheapest rounded cables around. $6 each. Half the price of other places who supposedly have them on sale. They don't look the absolute best, but they're well enough made. I bought some.

Where on that site? please leave a better link. It looks like this place is just a search page. No cables here.

My Jesus is whiter than your Jesus.

Whoops, sorry. I put a .com instead of a .net

Go to this page instead.
They've got some other good stuff on there too, and unlimited small items for the same shipping cost.

Is it possible to have good airflow with a standard 2 fan (1 intake, 1 exhaust) setup?

My brain has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down

The AMD web site has a good pic of good air flow..I dont know if you have an AMD,but the theory would be the same for a Pentium...If you have a long video card, then you would have to step up the FPM for your pull and push..Some say in front out back..some say in back out front.its trial and error...Ive just gone overbourd with all my cooling.seems to do the trick...The bigger the case, the better of you are..Thats my opinion..

don't bother buying the cables. Just fold them and zip tie them. You don't even have to cut the wires either. You only need to by the rounded cables if your one of those freaks that tries to make their case look cool with glass windows and flood lights.

yeah thats what i was originally gonna do, cut em and put them in tubing. hehe putting flood lights on, that kaked me up :)
