Hi i have judt had my new gpu and psu fitted and was assured on here that it would all fit easily however the guy who helped me fit it said i ned a case as the airflow was really bad as the gtx 970 is much bigger than the 660

What is your current fan setup? Also the GTX 970 will use about the same amount of power give or take a few watts.

It doesn't look bad at all. Where are the fan vents located? Top, back and front? What fans are installed right now? If anything upgrade and buy a new fan or 2.

Ill just take a photo of inside so you can see for yourself as i dont really know

Just use this http://openhardwaremonitor.org It would be hard to do any quick damage to most modern CPUs/GPUs. Unless you are messing with the voltage it is EXTREMELY unlikely to get damaged. On the other hand running very high temps for a period of months can lower the long term life span, but in most cases people are tossing or reselling their gpus long before it dies. Just watch the temps and report back what you get. If the temps are fine, then you have nothing to worry about. If they are a little high, I would suggest getting a new fan or 2, If they are really high, then I would consider looking into better airflow options. Keep the CPU under 75c (unless benchmarking) and the GPU under 80c (AMD is about 85c). Good luck 😀

You can check the airflow with a fog machine or dry ice. Watch it circulate through the case. :) Never use burning smoke or a cigarette, because the smoke will leave a build up on your parts when it cools.

Are you just on stock cpu cooler? If so, I would suggest getting a better cpu cooler or try remounting. Those temps are a little high even for extreme gaming on the cpu. GPU runs about 5c more then I would prefer, but it is under the 80c which is fine. This is no reason to get a whole new case. Just try adjusting things already. New cpu cooler maybe, and maybe another case fan. How man case fans do you have now? And where are they located? are they stock fans or upgrades? If so what brand of fans?
