I'm getting a 6700k and I want to get a h5 which is 160mm in height. But the case I'm getting, the Deepcool kendomen states that it supports coolers up to 165mm in height.

Now my friend who use to run a business building custom computers told me I should leave about 20mm's clearance to account for the cpu and motherboard and whatever else.

But I've been doing some research an everywhere else it's telling that the 160mm cooler should fit, so I'm quite confused.

Just want a few people's opinions before I order my build tomorrow morning as I really don't want to get it and it not fit, otherwise I will have to wait another 2 weeks just to order a smaller one :/

A great many years ago, when after market coolers were rare, case manufacturers did not put on CPU cooler limitations - simply because most coolers were shorter than 5,25 inch bay. Then - you would measure the case and subtract 25mm - that was a good indication of how much space you have.

Noways - it is different. If Deepcool says CPU HSF limitation is 165 - then it is 165 mm.
