Anyone know why there is no where to screw in this standoff on my case?

Motherboard is:
GIGABYTE GA-Z97X-SLI LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
A friend gave me this case, and mobo/cpu/ram but it wouldnt post. So we took out the motherboard and noticed it has 9 standoffs screwed into the case but the motherboard appears to only have 7 standoff holes in it.
So we removed the extra ones but the 7th slot for the motherboard standoff appears to have nowhere to screw into the case like the picture shows
