I will be building a Haswell desktop gaming rig. My case is an SM8 Caselabs that will utilize (3) 140mm fans on top and (3) 140mm fans in front. How do I hookup the 3 top fans together on one circuit and the 3 fans in front on another circuit? Can someone show me a picture of the fan wire/connector rig? The fans I want to use are Noctua NF-A14 (variable 300-1500 rpm 4 pin) Haswell MB not identified yet but do I want these connected to the MB or a fan controller? Thanks
Dave

Solution
No. Connect three fans into a splitter. Then connect the splitter into a fan controller. Connect the fan controller molex cable into the PSU.
Thanks for a quick answer,
Circuit meaning daisychaining together. 3 fans in series into a molex or a fan controller or a MB header of some sort. If I connect fans to a PSU wont that just run at full speed w/o the benefit of controlled fan speed? IOW, if the case don't need it I would like the fans to either stop slow down or speed up

Most cases are great a stock configuration. So there's no reason to have more fans.

I would not recommend chaining so many fans into a motherboard header. You can get a splitter and connect them directly into a fan controller if your fan controller does not have enough slots.

OK then - I see that you mean that I should not daisychaine 3 fans together onto 1 MB fan connector but rather, connect three fans together onto a molex and into an independent fan controller on the front of the case correct? Can you link me to a 3 fan to molex adapter? Thank again
