Case fan connections

I'm just finishing up with assembling my new PC, but I've ran into a roadblock. Namely, the case fans.

Now, I've got 3 of them- And all of them have a 3-pin connector that can go into a motherboard header AND a 4-pin molex connector. So I'm a bit stumped on how to connect this...

Do I need to connect them to BOTH the PSU and mobo? Can I connect them ONLY the mobo or ONLY to the PSU?

Any suggestion on what to do with the molex connectors that just kinda... dangle in the air in my case when it stands upright?

I prefer to connect to the motherboard when possible personally. you can zip-tie the other connector to keep it tidy.
