Good day all, so far I got some of my answers, like the difference between the 3 and 4 pin mobo headers.
The 3 pin has a gng,+12V and one that sends speed info back to the board, and speed change is done by varying the 12v up/down. The 4 pin is more or less the same wiring except the 4th wire is the one that does the speed control.. Now, not all 4pin headers are capable of PWM. Correct me if I am wrong.
I have an MSI Z77 Mpower mobo, and best I can tell, 2 out of the 4 case fan headers are PWM and 2 are not. Now I have read all the different ways to power fans, if you have more fans than headers, I came up with an idea that I did not see anywhere and was would like some feed back, if this is already out there I apologize...
Say I want to run 2 fans, but have them controlled by the mobo, I have a modification to connecting both to the one header with a 'Y' which I do not trust!! Can I get molex to 2 pin connectors, daisy chain the 2 fans.. so they are powered by the PSU, then pull the last 2 pins from the mobo, that would be the speed sense and PWM pins, and connect that to both 3rd and 4th pins on the fans... SO separate power so wont burn out my mobo headers, but still controlled by the mobo??
SO!! Has anyone tried this? Are there off the shelf devices to do this? Can I overload the PWM connection by hooking up 2 fans? If no to all those I will try it!!!

Thanks for any feedback..
