So I just completed my first PC build and I have a NZXT Phantom full tower with 6 case fans which are 3 pin. My mother board is a Gigabyte AB350 with two 4 pin fan connections.

What is the best way to connect all these fans and what do I need?

First: The 3-pin plugs will fit into the 4-pin sockets.

Second: Most motherboards can control 4-pin PWM (pulse width modulation) fans and 3-pin voltage regulation fans.

Third: Only use one Y-splitter per motherboard connection. Y-splitters will only give you the abilty to power up 4 fans.
Either 2 fans will have to run full speed plugged into your PSU. You can get resistors to slow them down but you can't control them.
Or you may want to get a powered fan hub to control them all.

Are you sure you are not looking at one of the extension ends?

The extension's are for connecting the female ends from the fans into. They will link up to a controller/adapter that will be powered by using a molex connection from the power supply.

3 pin fans will connect to 4 pin headers on the motherboard, same goes for using any splitter.
You can use either a splitter or the controller that that case likely has to link up all the fans.
